This week passed by very fast! I hardly had time to do anything including cooking dinner for my husband after work. Then I realized that it was because I worked a lot this week!
We woke up around 1-2pm today, and quickly changed and went out to find something to eat. We have been sleeping really late especially the day before our off day!
Somnang, Cu and I were sitting in the car and discussing about what to eat for our "lunner" (a.k.a. lunch/dinner). Actually it was for our breakfast, lunch and dinner since we woke up so late. We looked at the time, and Cu suggested Nori-nori, a Japanese buffet. I wasn't quite fond about the buffet because they do not have those sushi that I like. So I suggested Taki, a new Japanese restaurant that is right next to our house but Cu and I haven't been there. I really want to go there because I heard a lot of good comments. Well, I like sushi!! So why not? But Somnang said it closed from 2-5pm. Most restaurants here have their lunch break, so does Taki. Then Cu suggested Sumo, but hello... Sumo is also closed! Cu asked if we were sure about it? We weren't sure, so he drove there to check, and we were right!
We were very hungry at that point, and I said we should go to Canton Cook, our favorite Chinese restaurant on Roswell Road. It's closed to where we live, like a few exits down on freeway-285. But I realized that it was closed last time when we went there during this period of time too. We started blaming each other for waking up so late and now we had no where to go!
Then Somnang said she is craving for the Chinese herb wine soup that I brought home last time. It was from China Delight. We were happy because we all knew that it could be the only nice restaurant that would still open during this restaurant break time! We finally made up our mind although it was a little far from where we live. But oh well, we were all hungry and almost couldn't think of anywhere nicer to enjoy our Monday meals!!
We ordered the whole package of dinner set that is specialized for 2-3 people. It costs around $38 and there were 4 dishes: tofu fish maw soup, lobster with gingers and scallions, seafood and meat hot pot, and beef with Chinese broccoli. Of course what we were craving for was not in the package, the herb wine soup! So we asked if we could replace the soup. And we got it replaced for paying extra $10. It was worth it, the soup was really good! We finished it all!! Cu loved everything especially the lobsters! He said he haven't eat lobsters for very long time. Poor baby. Me too! Hahaha.
We were so full and started thinking to cancel the rest of our plans: going grocery shopping, buy my new uniforms, etc. But we forced ourselves to go because I really needed my new uniform and Cu wanted to change the Shamrock that won us $50! This time he said he wanna buy the rest of the Shamrock that Publix has! Crazy!
We first shopped in the Publix and picked all the snacks that we wanted to eat! I bought my cheesecake, Somnang bought her chocolate cake, and Cu bought a big bag of chips and sweetened green tea again! And we didn't forget about Nini of course, we bought her some treats too! Hey, it's our off day and we deserved it! Hahaha... Then by the time when we went to buy the Shamrock, there was only one left! Cu was very disappointed because he said he had the feeling that there would be some big win among those tickets! We laughed but he was a little down, thinking that he LOST the chance to win more money. Hahaa... That is what gamble does to people, once you win a little, you believe that you will win more! I was actually relief that there were not much left, what if there were more than $100 worth of Shamrock? Was he going to buy them all too? For real? So we used the $50 that we won to buy the one ticket that they left for $3. We got $47 back, and of course this $47 belonged to me. Hahaha... And guess what, we won another free ticket! Haha...
Next we went to Wal-Mart to buy my uniform. Somnang was about to get the cart but Cu stopped her, "what are you doing? She is only going to get her uniformt." Was that true? I couldn't find my size and they were out of stock. Somnang had to buy soy milk, and we had to buy clorox. Then we realized that we needed carpet powder to vacuum too! And Cu grabbed another chips, so did Somnang! I was holding the clorox... Cu had three things in his hands and Somnang had two. Great!! This is what always happen when you go out with this two BIG kids! They always have something to buy! Somebody please help me to budget them!!
Talking about budget, it's time to talk about what I have done for last week! After all, this is the reflection of my week! Hahaa... And I totally changed my topic!
Financial - Ok, financial wise, we are doing pretty good last week. We got the refund from income tax, and we cleared our debt with Tina and Cu's mom. That is the reason why we pamper ourselves today. Haha... It was fun. I also able to save quite a lot of money for myself from work too. And this week has been wonderful!
Future - Cu talked about moving to California again! This time, I think all of us would get the job and it might really work! We were all excited and waiting for good news! If it works, then we really going to move!
School - Again, if we move, then there will be no school for me in at least one year. But if we move, I could get a job working for government. They will provide a lot of benefits, so education is really not that important anymore!
Workout - Somnang and I are going to buy yoga mat and we will do yoga watching the DVD that she brought back from California. will this last long? We'll see.
Fun Day - We set our fun day as Monday because we all have the same off day!! Now no more running errand on Monday. All the errands will be postphoned to other day when we are not off together.
Recreation Day - The recreation day is on-going. Somnang and I are going to do some scrapbook together. It will be so much fun!
Week 7 had been wonderful! A lot of saving from last week! And we were so happy enjoying what we deserved today. The food was great, same as desserts! The only thing bad is the weather! It was raining and cold! Gosh, can it be a better weather next Monday, please?
